Victaulic Vortex is a hybrid fire extinguishing system that provides the best aspects of both water mist and inert gas systems. The system uses inert gas and water to generate a nitrogen-enriched atmosphere that opposes combustion. Browse Victaulic Vortex™ Hybrid Fire Extinguishing Systems listed below. View More
One of the most appealing aspects of the Victaulic Vortex system is the environmentally green design that uses non-toxic agents to keep personnel safe during activation. There is no need to evacuate the room before the system engages or maintain a tight room integrity after the system has deployed.

How Does Hybrid Fire Suppression Work?
In our environment the air already contains 78% percent nitrogen; when a Victaulic Vortex system discharges, the addition of nitrogen dilutes the air and allows the tiny water particles to absorb the heat, creating an atmosphere that does not support combustion. Victaulic Vortex hybrid fire suppression systems efficiently extinguish fires with nearly zero wetting, no expensive clean-up, equipment replacement or profit loss from systems being offline. One of the most appealing aspects of the Victaulic Vortex system is the environmentally green design that uses non-toxic agents to keep personnel safe during activation. Where Can Hybrid Fire Suppression Systems Be Used?
While Victaulic Vortex could be used in virtually any commercial or industrial application, the systems have been specifically designed for environments containing sensitive irreplaceable materials such as libraries, museums, data centers and archives. This novel class of hybrid fire suppression is the motivation for the development of the NFPA 770, a new set of standards on hybrid (water and inert gas) fire extinguishing systems. To learn more about these standards, read the Victaulic blog post “NFPA 770 Standard on Hybrid Fire Extinguishing Systems.”Read & download Victaulic product literature & information available in multiple languages in our literature library.
