Hydraulic Control
Our exclusive partnership with Bermad gives us the ability to integrate the Victaulic grooved pipe joining technology with BERMAD hydraulic control valves to create the best control valve solution available. Victaulic hydraulic control valves are automatic, self-operating valves controlled by hydraulic pilots and solenoids. They are a highly effective solution for pressure reducing and sustaining, flow control, pressure relief, surge protection, pump control, and more. Victaulic hydraulic control valves for fire applications and non-fire applications are divided into four main categories: Pressure Relief Valves, Pressure Reducing Valves, Level Control Valves, and Pressure Sustaining Valves.
Pressure Relief Valves
Hydraulic pressure relief valves or safety relief valves/recirculating relief valves are used to control or limit the pressure in a system. They are designed to open at a preset pressure and relieve the system when it has exceeded the desired level, preventing damage to the system. Consider piping system materials and design, set pressure, back pressure, temperature and required capacity when selecting a pressure relief valve for your fire protection, industrial utility and processing, HVAC, and municipal water system.
Pressure Reducing Valves
A hydraulic pressure reducing valve (PRV) is designed to reduce incoming water or steam pressure to a safer constant predetermined downstream level. They can protect pipes and fixtures from damage or breaks. PRVs can also save money by reducing the amount of wasted water. When buying pressure reducing valves, consider the piping system materials and design, flow, pressure (PSI from the water source & emitting devices), temperature and sensitivity.
Level Control Valves
Victaulic hydraulically controlled level control valves are designed for water storage tank management in fire protection, industrial utility and processing, HVAC, and municipal water systems. Consider the system’s material and design, line pressure, flow rate and temperature rating when purchasing a hydraulic level control valve.
Pressure Sustaining Valves
Pressure sustaining valves (PSVs) are used where downstream demand cannot be allowed to deplete capacity of upstream supply. PSVs, also referred to as back pressure valves or back pressure regulators, are used in various applications where maintaining a stable upstream pressure is critical. PSVs are most effective in potable water distribution systems, irrigation systems and industrial process systems. PSVs are useful on the discharge side of a pump to maintain minimum NPSH pump requirements. When purchasing pressure sustaining valves, consider the system’s material and design, pressure requirements and flow characteristics.
