When looking for a solution to join an 8km long 400-450mm (16’’ – 18″) pipeline used to transport water from a dam to the Fraser Alexander mine dumps, Gold One International Limited relied on Victaulic solutions.

To begin reclaiming the mine dump, Fraser Alexander needed to get the 8km pipeline installed. For this reason, Gold One wanted the pipeline installed quickly, with enhanced system reliability. They chose to partner with Victaulic on this critical application.

Victaulic provided system solutions for the pipeline including Style W77 AGS Flexible and Style W07 AGS Rigid Couplings. The contractor, Mocke Pipeline Constructions, was able to install 25 to 30 pipe spools a day, enhancing productivity on-site when compared to previously employed flanged joining methods. Victaulic Style W77 flexible couplings were installed to adhere to the challenging terrain, with custom-designed cups that encase the coupling’s bolts and nuts to prevent theft.

The use of Victaulic AGS solutions enabled Gold One to enhance onsite productivity and mitigate risk, completing the project on time and on budget.
