Victaulic’s Dan Christian, Director- Oil, Gas & Power, and Ernie Maschner, Vice President- Business Development, Infrastructure, spent a week on the road in India intending to strengthen Victaulic’s relationships with many of the country’s top EPC firms- including Black & Veatch, Worley Parsons, and Aquatech.
Last year, Christian made a similar trip to India to interact with divisions of the largest global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms. During this trip, many of the EPCs were pleasantly surprised by all the methods that Victaulic could add value to the various stages of the construction project lifecycle. Christian wanted to make a second trip to continue to strengthen Victaulic’s relationships with EPCs and continue to educate about the value Victaulic can add to a project.
Victaulic visited Black & Veatch (located in Pune), Worley Parsons (located in Kolkata and Mumbai), and Aquatech (located in Pune). At the EPCs offices, Victaulic met with their divisions in the power, oil and gas, telecommunications, government, mining, data centers, water, and wastewater markets, both domestically and globally. Many EPCs have their global headquarters in the United States; and have engineering and design centers in India. As the EPCs continue to grow and progress, the engineering and design centers are given more autonomy on the firm’s project management responsibilities. All of the EPC design centers identified projects where Victaulic systems could provide immediate value.
“Our goal was to educate the EPCs’ engineering and design centers in India about Victaulic’s successful relationships with their home offices, mostly in the United States, and the collaboration on projects both domestically and globally,” said Dan Christian. “We spent time with each EPC teaching them the value of Victaulic by showcasing our capabilities in product innovation, fabrication, coordination, and estimating.”
Earlier this year, a Victaulic team held multiple “pop-up” shows in the conference rooms of the different EPC firms throughout India. Product demonstrations were made available during each of the presentations, covering Victaulic fabrication capabilities, Installation Ready™, AGS on 10” Victaulic Couplings, Fittings, and Valves. The visit also consisted of presentations on Victaulic’s Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and estimating capabilities.
The success of the roadshow was evident from the impressive turnout at the presentations. More than 125 attendees spent time engaging with the Victaulic team. The attendees included design engineers, pipe stress engineers, construction engineers, as well as procurement and estimating. The EPCs appreciated the elaborate product demonstrations along with the presentations. Additionally, there was much positive feedback received regarding the value that was added by having hands-on experiences and allowing people to interact with the Victaulic products physically.
The Victaulic core team was comprised of Christian, Maschner, Ashvin Bhagat, VDC Mumbai Manager, Siddharth Sarda, Regional Manager for North India, Prasad Desai, Sales Engineer for West, Rahul Ramchandran, Sales Engineer, and Alka Tiwari, Marketing Specialist.

Based on the interest expressed by all of the EPCs, the Victaulic team intends to hold a similar visit in 2021 that reaches additional divisions of the EPCs as well as other EPC firms across India.
