Today marks the 85th anniversary of National Maritime Day; A day that recognizes the momentousness of U.S. maritime history.
We’ve proudly supported the maritime industry since the early 1920’s when Victaulic gathered its sea legs. A true testament to the longevity and reliability of our systems were the World War II Liberty Ships. To address the sudden need for supplies overseas during the war, the US government launched an emergency shipbuilding program resulting in the construction of 2,700 cargo ships. These Liberty Ships formed the backbone of a massive sealift of troops, arms, material, and ammunition.
Let’s take a minute to reflect on an industry that has fueled our alliances with trade partners through periods of peace and conflict.
