The September-October 2015 issue of Southeast Asia Building Magazine featured a contributed article written by John Stempo, Group Leader of Global Regulatory Compliance at Victaulic. The article addresses the role of regulatory testing and approvals in the growing adoption of flexible sprinkler systems around the world. In the article, John addresses common issues that can be found in hard pipe installations, how these issues can contribute to decreased performance of the sprinkler system, and how the selection of agency-approved flexible sprinkler drop products can eliminate some of these issues.
Southeast Asia Building Magazine, published bi-monthly since 1974, is a Singapore-based trade magazine devoted to architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, roof and facade, and facility management. About the Author
John Stempo is Group Leader of Global Regulatory Compliance at Victaulic Company. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and has 10 years of experience with product development and regulatory testing and approvals in the Fire Safety industry. He is currently serving as Victaulic’s representative on the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC21/SC5, the committee responsible for developing international standards for water-based fire sprinkler systems.
