When contractor Hydro-Temp Mechanical (HTM) was tasked with renovating the more than 100-year-old Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland, Oregon, they partnered with Victaulic and their Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to re-design the basement-level mechanical room. Faced with a short four-month schedule and extreme spatial constraints in the building, the expertise of the VDC team was essential to the project’s success. They used a FARO 3D scanner to assess the basement, then created a model in Revit from the scan.
Once the drawings were approved, Victaulic and Hydro-Temp Mechanical coordinated the fabrication of the materials, and bagged and tagged pipe spools were delivered to the jobsite as they were needed.
“Collaborating with Victaulic was the right choice for this project,” says Jared Carkin, vice president of preconstruction at HTM.
