The Courtyard Marriott in Santo Domingo is a five-story hotel in the center of the city with amenities such as an onsite restaurant, fitness center, business meeting spaces, and much more. The hotel needed to minimize the downtime of the hot water system when retrofitting two large storage tanks, two water heaters, and all of the 2” and smaller pipe systems to avoid interrupting the function of the building. Traditionally, threading would be used in this type of retrofit project, but the Victaulic QuickVic™ SD Installation-Ready™ System was chosen for its speed of installation and reliability. This solution eliminates the mess and hassle of threading and the lengthy inspection process. The contractor was able to visually inspect QuickVic SD for pad-to-pad contact, and patented “Leak-If-Not-Tightened” technology helped ensure a proper connection, offering peace of mind. The customer estimated that QuickVic SD installed up to three times faster than it would have taken to install and inspect a threaded piping system. This equates to time that hotel guests were not without amenities, resulting in savings for everyone involved. Victaulic’s reliable products will earn the Marriott up to 90% time savings on leak repairs they could potentially face with a threaded system.
